MedExel Becomes the First Korean Company to Export Insulin Pen Needles to Iran

MedExel Co., Ltd. (CEO: Cha Dong-ik) has successfully exported insulin pen needles to Iran.

The company shipped 3 million units in early May under its own brand, TopFine, entering the Iranian market with this achievement. MedExel has traditionally focused on OEM exports.

The product exported to Iran is a 32-gauge needle, which is thinner than standard products, reducing pain during insulin injection.

Pen needles are a core product in insulin-related medical devices. MedExel is a specialized manufacturer of pen needles, with 98% of its production exported to Europe and North America.

The company was established in 2000 as a joint venture between American, German, and Korean companies to ensure a stable global supply of diabetes syringes and insulin pen needles.

CEO Cha Dong-ik stated, “Our successful entry into the challenging Iranian medical device market positions us to use this as a bridgehead for further expansion into the Middle East. We plan to continue diversifying our export markets into Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and beyond to drive the company’s growth.”
